Inner Nose Rubber Seal Replacement

These seals (item 23 below) run vertically where the inside of the nose meets the innder fenders on each side, passing right along side the bumper brackets. [This seal is the same as the Mud Sill Seal (part number 805-381) to the rear of the fender]. The inner fender is not welded to the nose and this rubber gasket was sandwiched during original assembly in Germany. When replacing the nose, always replace this seal.

To replace these seals with the nose in place, remove the seals using a razor blade and a little muscle. I have had luck cutting them down their length on the trunk side and them pulling them out through the wheel well side. To replace them with the nose in place, cut the foot (along the open end) off along the length of the entire seal, then slide them around (under and over) the exposed flange on the inner fender working from the trunk side. Glue the upper lip onto this flange in several places to insure it doesn't wiggle free. Some chaulking and/or undercoating from the other (wheel well) side finishes the job.
